View3 Client and Agent on the same host

We need to install on some physical hosts both the View3 Client and Agent software.

Unfortunately this is not permitted by the installer, the first one launched can be installed, the other gives an error message.

Anybody knows a solution for this ?

Hi Vedett,

as you already said it's not permitted by the installer.

The only way to get around is to pack the View Client with ThinApp. In this case you will loose the USB functionallity for this client because you can't virtualize drivers with ThinApp.

I faced the same issue and ended up using a combinition of Microsoft Remote Desktop and the View Client we lost the features that the Agent Provided and USB Redurection also experianced some side affects but provided our requirements (Was used on an HP ThinClient t5130 do to current lack of support for VMware View)

As has been stated the only why this can be done is if you use a Application Virtualisation product to spoof the OS.
