Hello,
I have the Problem that I want to have a View Installation over two Datacenters.
Between the two DCs the Networklink is not strong enough for shared storage.
So I have to setup two Clusters in vCenter. But in View I can only choose one Cluster per Pool.
The Problem is that at the end I only want to present one View Pool to the Users.
Have anybody experiences with a setup like this?
My idea is to build two Pools and make the loadbalancing on a higher level.
Thanks for your help,
Regards Bastian
If I'm not mistaken when setting up a pool you can have duplicate Display names which would give the illusion of a single pool to the end users. It would require more work on the back end as you would have to manage separate entitlement to the pools.
On a side note when dealing with multiple datacenters it's best practice to have a seperate View environment in each datacenter. This prevents major problems in the event the WAN link is compromised.
I agree with everthing mittim12 says.
To simplify managing the entitlements for these pools with the same display name, entitle them in both View environments to the same AD user group (setup for this purpose). That way entitlements for these can all be managed in one place (AD). A member of this single group will then have access to the same named pool in both View environments.

Thanks a lot for your answers
Ok i will test this solution.
I will place a loadbalancer infront of the two view Pools.
But my Question, If I have to seperated View Environments (View Servers not replicated)
I see the problem in case of a disconnect of a user. When he try to reconnect how can I
bring him to the same pool he had before?
Thanks
