Hi,
One of our customers brought-up a case which I think that can be answered with use of VDI and
of course VMware View
They want to isolate users actual desktop from internet because of security reasons. What is actually
asked for is to build two totally isolated desktop, one can access internet and the other one not.
Seems a bit strange but their security policy forced them to build such an enviroment.
What I gussed can answer their request is to use View and vDesktop enviroment as the internet access pont,
but I'm not sure if two desktop enviroments can 100% isolated from eachother. The actual issue is malware and
virus infection.
If anyone here have an experince to deploy VMware View for such an enviroment?

NetRock,
I don’t think you can actually be completely isolated as you would have to open certain ports from physical desktop to virtual desktop. With that being said we have a View pool that we utilize as an internet portal for employees to surf with.
Yeas we did that scenario in our env, all you have to do is to install two view connection server, one for internal use, and the second for both, when install the security server, let it connect with the second server.
After that you can crate the pools you want to be able work internal and pools work in both ways

Hi,
Thanx for the replay. To set it straight, I want a full Internet connectivity isolation between the Terminals that end-users
use and View Client is installed on and virtual desktops which is provided by View Connection server.
is that possibe through the use of VMware View solution?
