View Connection server dont answer on port 443

Hello!

Suddenly got a very strengt problem with my View Connection server, it has stopped responding on port 443.

On port 80 no problem but on 443 nothing happens - not even telnet local on the same machine!

And yes - I have restarted a couple of times and yes Windows firewall is disabled and no I dont have any other firewall software on the machine and no IIS.

Any ideas?

TIA / Kent

Need a bit more information about your View, vSphere and network config. I assume you are using Windows 2008 R2. Something has changed here. More info please.

This is a very easy lab enviroment, nothing "fancy"

View 5

vSphere 5 - 3 hosts

Windows 2008 R2

One network, one switch, no VLAN, no segmentation

And no security server, direct connection to the Connection server

Take another look at your connection server. Was there a recent windows update? Have you tried to reinstall it?

You may also want to use Wireshark to look at what packets are being sent. What is in the log files?

No errors in the logs

No Windows update

But reinstall means that I first have to remove the curremt installation - and the I loose all my View VM setup?

Then in that case do one of two thing first:

1) Backup your connection server

2) Install a replica first and then try it.

What was done before this happened yesterday?

On host was removed from the cluster and View Connection server was moved t a new host with Vmotion

With your last statement in mind. Check our host network/firewall configuration on your esxi hosts. Take a look at your vSwitches.

Dont see anything different on this host in the esxi config.

But firewall? Is there a firewall setting somewhere on the esxi host (I´m NOT a server guy ;:)?

Is it correct that it answers on port 80 when i have checked "Use Secure Tunnel connection to desktop" amd "Use PCoIP Secire Gateway...."?

Now I have installed a completelt new server as a replica and if I brwose that with http - everything works, with https - "Page not found".

In some way somewhere I have disabled 443 in the config or at the hosts - but where?? Domt fins anyplace where its possible to do that?

Now I have installed a completely new View server on the same VM as I tried the replica - and now it works!

With other words is it something wrong in my config that disables port 443 - but I dont find where it´s possible to do that Smiley Sad

In a typical install I don't believe that there is a such a setting, at least not from a default install of the connection server. What do the logs on the connection server and the View desktop say? Any configuration details for your connection server? Please provide them.Take a look at the Windows server you are using for that connection server and make sure that there is no other application on it that may use 443. Let's see the logs.

I have the same problem now. I got a view 4.6 connection server.

I belive the problem lays in a windows 2008 r2 update because it stopped responding on port 443 after I installed some updates, I've tried to uninstall the updates - but no luck.

If i run netstat -a on the server I see that it's no listening on port 443, any idea how to reinstall the ssl server ?
