View Connection Server 5.0

Hello,

I would like to install a new vmware connection server with the latest version 5.0. I read in the pdf of vmware view 5.0 installation that for the CPU requirements I need to have 4 CPUs.

All my ESX have 2 sockets with 4 Core per sockets

Do I have to choose 2 Socket with 2 Cores or 1 Socket with 4 Core is still good? I have 4 hosts with 75 VMs in my vSphere environnment.

Thanks for your answers.

4 CPU is recommended for large infrastructures.

If you use direct connection between View Client and View Desktops vms (default settings, tupicaly in LAN), Connection Server maybe no need so many resources.

IMHO, you can started with 2 vCPU for this vm and look at performance. If you will detect high CPU load in guest OS - add one more.

Also generally speaking, I tend to make all of my vm's single socket, and with the requisite number of cores.  Very rarely do I split out into sockets, unless it's for licensing reasons, where you convert a server which had a certain number of physical sockets and was licensed for such.
