View Composer Settings - Error while attempting connection (Add Domain Admins)

Greetings-

I am trying to add my domain admin credentials to my View Composer settings (found within View Administrator, in the VirtualCenter Servers "edit" menu). I have tried many combinations of the domain and username, and I've added 10.x.y.z domain.net to the host file on my vCenter Server, also. I still always get an error... I have pasted it below. Can someone help me through this so I can start using View Composer? Thanks!!!

Not there. On the Win2k3 server that the View manager is installed on and the Win2K3 that VC is installed on.

Made sure all firewalls were disabled but still no luck. Is there somewhere I can go to get more information about why or what this is still failing? Any data I can gather that may help us troubleshoot the issue.

We're pretty consistent about log placement. Check under /docs & settings/all users/app data/vmware/vmware <component>/logs

It feels like port 443 is being blocked. When you disabled the firewall where did you disable it?

Double-check the logs on the View Manager server as it may provide more concise, accurate info.

I went into control panel - windows firewall and toggled them all to OFF.

I attached a screen cap of the errors I am getting on the view admin events page.

Go to start --> run --> services.msc --> ensure the firewall services is disabled. Turning off the firewall in the control panel doesn't actually turn it completely off.

Also, can you look at the actual logs on the View Manager server to see if there is more details there as to the error (or is it just repeating what you see above?)

Disabled all the firewalls and stopped the service. Still same problem. Here are the details of one of the logs from the ViewAdmin events page.... is the View Manager page something different than view admin? Also, the credentials I am adding, they are the domain administrator (same user I am using to login to view admin)... is that user OK to use for this?

Ok, I think I got it.... I had to tweak some of the user details for the Virtual Center settings above and then it seemed to work. I am going to continue along with the Linked Clone Desktop setups and see if it works....

What did you tweak on your user settings?

I added the domain in front of "Administrator" and added a password... I am not sure why these were not populated before but I just happened to notice it and decided what the heck, may as well try it. Once I added that, then when i put in the domain admin info it seemed to work.

I just finished setting up my link cloned desktop env. thanks much for your help the last two days I really appreciate it!!

Ah. It actually says that's the format to be used when entering that info but I will put in a request with engineering about perhaps putting something more "forceful".
