Is there any way to require clients be a certain version on the secure gateway server? If not is there a way to see what version a session is using?
We also need to be able to verify that users connecting from outside the company network are using the newest version of the View Client. Did you ever figure this out? Does anyone else out there have suggestions?
I have heard similar requests recently and I'm not aware of any way to do this. The only way that the client gives the version number to the server is an XML-API version, which loosely correlates to a client version but isn't always bumped for new releases of the client. Other than that, when requesting a desktop connection, we do include client information in the <environment-information> block, but it also doesn't include the client version.

I would like to see this too. Horizon Toolbox uses the CEIP information but I would like to see the client version put in the Volatile Registry too that way we can script a way to let users know to upgrade their clients. Or a way to add the client version on the view administrator.
The only thing i can think of is, if you use enhanced security, older clients will not be able to connect.
But you will need to make sure which client version supports which connection server.
