Solved: View Client 3d Reg Key

Hi All,

Referencing KB article 2020985 --> http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=202098...

To verify 3d is enabled on the View Client the article indicates a reg key should be present but doesn't say what the value should be. I don't see this particular reg key in the documentation either. Can anybody help me out?

One quick question - are you aware this option is only relevant for VMs running on the client using the Local Mode feature? It's not obvious from the KB article, but nothing is needed on the client side for a remote connection. Even if you are using local mode, the default setting is enabled.

Update 2012/11/06: The KB has now been updated to explicitly reference local mode.

Thanks, I didn't realize that setting was only for local mode; and you're right the KB article isn't clear about that .
