Can the View Agent be installed on a Linux box?
The thought is to reload my old XP boxes with Linux and install the View Agent to connect to my Windows 7 VMs.
Is this possible?
Thanks.
What we call the "View Agent" goes on the virtual Desktop and the "View Client" is on the device that is accessing the virtual desktop.
So to me it sounds like you want to have the View Client on your refurbished PC:s
In that case there are a number of options, first the VMware View Open Client, that is an opensource version of the View Client that can be installed on a Linxux box, here is the link: http://code.google.com/p/vmware-view-open-client/
Another option is to use a preconfigured linux boot cd like ThinStation, see this link: http://www.thinstation.org/
A third option is the commercial client from DevonIT called VDI Blaster, this comes with full PCoIP support and management:
http://www.devonit.com/software/vdi-blaster
There is currently no Linux version of the View agent, so only Windows Desktop OS as the virtual desktops.

Linjo
