Hi All,
VMWare Horizon View 7.0.2 agent installed in two non-persistent Windows 7x64 pools.
VMWare Horizon View Client 4.3.0 installed on Wyse/Dell WES8 thinclient
Display protocol is PCoIP or Blast, same results.
Normal production pool has no issues. Client resolution is 1920x1080 and 100% DPI which is copied over to the guest VM.
The second pool we have uses a mandatory profile that has a 125% DPI setting. On this pool we also have DPI Syncronisation disabled, because the client OS on the wyse thin client has 100% DPI, which interferes with what the pool is for.
When we log on to this second pool, DPI in the guest VM is 125% like we need, but somehow the resolution gets bumped up to 2400x1350. When we disable the "Allow display scaling" option the resolution automatically is lowered to 1920x1080. DPI stays 125% like it should.
Why does my guest resolution gets set higher than the client resolution when DPI is 125%? I cannot imagine any reason.
We need to disable "Allow display scaling" by default for these clients. There are no options available for this. I've tied using the EnableSessionDPIScaling registry key, which was needed to enable the option in previous versions, but it seems this doesn't do anything anymore.
