View 6.2.3 - Desktop Background

All non-persistent linked clones.

A couple main offices and many remote branches.

storage arrays on 10gb fc.

500mb between main offices.

Typical branches have minimum 5-15 down and 1-5 up

We've been running without a desktop background for performance.

I've added a test pool with the company's background for testing and can already see a small lag with just one desktop.  I'm wondering if others have used desktop backgrounds, made any protocol optimizations to PCoIP or if there's any way to use desktops without or limiting the effect to users such as lag, freezing and at worst disconnecting.

Background was set on parent image - due to the changes in resolutions etc I color matched the company background color and set the color as a solid background in the registry then fit the background image so any bars around the image will fill in but the image will remain in the correct spot without being distorted.  -- had an issue with the dynamic desktop text so I had to first set a solid black to get them to change to white then after it has stayed.

What version of Windows you're running the parent image on?

Did you run the VMwareOSOptimizationTool? If yes what version

Check this key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{2C7339CF-2B09-4501-B3F3-F3508C9228ED} if you're running Windows 10 Pro 32 BIT

Running
Windows 7 64 bit mostly.  Hoping last three 32 bit pools can be changed
soon.

I ran optimization tool on every parent.

Just for testing create a clean new parent image/snapshot & recompose:

* Nothing on it

* No VMwareOSOptimizationTool

* Just VMware Tools & VMware View Agent

If possible create a new simple pool, otherwise use the testing pool if there is one. Let me know if you see the background for the new VM Linked-Clone!
