View 5.2 - HTML blast XP - An error has occurred: {"code":"ECONNRESET"}

Hello,

I have View 5.2 installed and working great but I can't access my XP linked clones using HTML access

The error I get - An error has occurred: {"code":"ECONNRESET"}

My Win 7 pool is working fine with HTML access.

There are some references on the web saying its a bug in the current version.

Anyone see this before or know of any fix.

Thanks, Joe

Got it working by deleting this reg key from the parent VM and linked clones

HKLM/Software/VMware Inc/Blast/Config/SSLHash

See attached working!!! Smiley Happy

Ensure that the Windows XP machines has been "Activiated" with Microsoft. If XP is still in its "pre-activation" mode you'll see an ECONNRESET error.

You can receive this message against XP if you log out from the desktop and then try to log in again via HTML Access within 2 minutes.  The workaround for this is to wait at least two minutes before logging in again.

If you are connected to an XP VM directly via RDP (outside of the View) while attempting to connect via Blast, you may receive this error. (This is easy to do if you've just installed the Feature Pack on the VM using RDP, and haven't rebooted or disconnected in the meantime.)

You get this error on XP desktops if they are sysprepped, but not when they are quick-prepped. There is a bug open on this.

Thanks Linjo, That explains it as these VM's were sysprepped

Any idea when it will be fixed?

A new version of HTML access was just released, try that one:

Thanks again Linjo, I installed the update Feature pack 2 and can confirm XP SP3 still doesn't work when sysprep'd

Same Error: An error has occurred: {"code":"ECONNRESET"}

I raise a call with VMware... see can I get anywhere.

Dear all,

I still have this issue on Windows XP prepared with sysprep.

I never use quickprep because there is no working with a lot of application that consider quickprep machine the same machine.

I still need to sysprep the Windows XP pool.

Thank you in advance.

While upgrading the underlying VC for Horizon from 5.1 to 5.5, we had to switch certs from a wildcard to a specific cert as the wildcard was no longer working.  The Connection servers were not upgraded though, and we got the same error as above.  This was resolved by removing the connection servers from the Horizon config and re-adding them.
