View 4 Client Shade is not visable

When I connect to a Virtual Desktop, using a linux based (IGEL) Thin client the Shade is not visable at the top of the screen meaning that I cannot utilise USB redirction etc.

If I connect using View Client from the windows desktop the shade is visable and works fine.

Any one got any ideas how I can get the shade to be visable from the linux client.

Thanks

Matt

Is the View Client built in to the Linux Thin Client? I know with some zero clients that have the View Client built in, the USB device automatically redirects, so you don't need the shade.

What thin client are you using?

We are using the IGEL UD3-720 LX (Latest Firmware), I have tried plugging in USB devices (Storage ones i.e. USB memory sticks work fine) but nothing else is detected.

If I look on the Thin client end the device shows up but nothing shows up in device manager on the Virtual Desktop.

Thanks,

Matt

With the Linux client there is no shade, the USB device should be automatically redirected.

Check if there are any settings in the Igel client to be modified.

The devices we are trying to get working are Smartcard Readers I have made some progress by switching from PCOIP to RDP, this seems to pass through the reader at least in the first instance, nothing seems to show up under device manager in the virtual desktop, but the card reader software initially detects the reader.

However, when I insert a card the software detects it and pops up the login screen but then a few seconds later, the software closes and the card reader is no longer available.

I have tried two different readers and both exhibt the same behaviour, and both are on the Hardware compatability list, one is an omnikey and one is a Dell keyboard integrated one.

Does it work from a Windows machine?

I have now tried from a windows Thin Client (Also IGEL UD5 720 ES) this produces similar results, in that with PCoIP no USB redirection seems to occur, with RDP it works fine, the devices are passed through automatically and smart card authentication works fine within the guest.

So I guess it is some kind of problem with PCoIP

Do you guys know of anyway I can passthorugh the credentials to the desktop.

I cannot get this working but probably a lack of knowledge on my part of the Igel client.

Any help to how I can achieve this would be very well recieved as users are getting frustrated with having to enter credentials twice and pressing CtrlAltInsert

Thanks
