View 4.5 Training

Has anyone taken the View 4.5 training? I first started off with supporting a View 3.1 environment a year ago and we just upgraded to View 4.5 back in October and I feel pretty comfortable with it, but was wondering if I would get anything out of the training. I don't have to pay for it so that is not a deciding factor.

Thanks

Hi,

I took the 4.5 course back in November, 2010. It was VMware's online course. It was pretty good. I didn't have to pay for it either, so it worked out well. There were no labs on using local mode, but other than that, it was pretty solid. I think if you have access to a lab, you can just read the Install and Admin Guides. To be fair, I haven't read the books that the class provides, so maybe there is more good stuff in there.

I've attended both the training and i would say that it's more towards the new features and function which is 30% diff from the view3 course. Unless you need to take it for vmware partnership compliance, you're much better reading all the ready available documentations for view 4.5.

IMHO, if you do not need the course for Partner Competency, use the available material and also the free course in the Partner University (the one about "What's new in View 4.5" is quite good).
