VMware view checkout client - Error

Im using VMware view on our company and now im trying to get the local mode to work, ive put up a transfer server and i published and image but i do get problem when i try to check out client.

The check out starts, but after 8% it halts and a dialog comes up saying "Internal Error", nothing more, the only place i can find any sort of information is in eventview for that windows machine, and there it says two thing.

1. Send returned failure in getCachMinutesLeft

2.GetCacheMinutesLeft: failed to get remaining cach lifetime for C:\VMware View\Local Desktop\Windows 7 - Clean\CN=Win7-Clean.OU=Application.DC=vdi.DC=vdi.DC=vmware.DC.DC=int.vmx:Internal error.

Is there anyone who knows why im getting this problem?

/Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,

We doesn't have the same error, but I give you some tips:

1. Please check the Permissions for the vCenter Server User:

Global

    • Disable methods
    • Enable methods
    • Manage custom attributes
    • Set custom attribute
    • System tag

The Privilege "Manage custom attributes" is necessary for local mode.

2. Change the checkout path and check the permissions for your user

- Sometimes the path + filename exceeds the 255 character limit

- the user need full write access to the checkout path (see the picture attached)

VMware now published a KB-article:

vCenter Server user privileges missing in the VMware View Installation document are required for certain View features.
