VMware tools update for Horizon VDI

Hello,

I was hoping to get some feedback as to how others are updating VMware tools for Horizon VDI.

we are running on Horizon 8 v2111, and 200 full-clone dedicated VMs allocated to users. There is a vulnerability CVE-2022-31676 that needs updating VMware tools,

Previous versions of Horizon require specific order uninstall Agent--> Reboot--> update VMware tools--> reboot --> install horizon agent

I wonder is it the same for the Horizon 8 v2111?

Hi mak14,

Since H8 2106/ 7.13 you do not have to uninstall the agent first. We have already just updated the Tools and there were no downsides so far.

not sure what they are intending ESB appvol customers to do.  Hopefully that group is just late certifying this tools version.

I guess this jives with the above where only most latest releases were certified so far.  Still you'd think ESB release, being long term support, would be pretty high on the list of testing and validation?

VMware App Volumes 2206 | 19 JUL 2022 | Build 4.7.0.64
VMware App Volumes 2203.1 | 07 JUL 2022 | Build 4.6.1.24
VMware App Volumes 2103.8 | 07 JUL 2022 | Build 4.4.8.28
VMware App Volumes 2012.3 | 07 JUL 2022 | Build 4.3.3.25

TAM says we can expect interop ito be updated soon.
