VMware View are there any bigger installations in EMEA (several hundert vdi clients)?

Hallo

Does anyone know a productive Vmware View installation in Emea, size more than 100-200 Clients (Target Size arround 500-1000 Clients)?

It would be nice if anyone would know a installation, so we could talk to this customer or if anyone knows a person in europe from vmware who has done a installation like this under esx server and microsoft with his own hands.

Does anyone know, is there any significant productive installation in the world? We have severel questions in case of proof-of-concept (solution design), about the console, antivirus engine..

Thanks in advance.

The University of Rennes 2 in France implemented a large, production deployment using VMware VI3. Their deployment includes VMware ESX, Wyse thin clients, and the Leostream Connection Broker. This configuration lets students access their desktops from thin clients in the computer lab and laptops in areas with a WLAN or WIFI connection. The university began with a 50-seat pilot, which they've expanded to include the faculty and student body at large. (The university currently has 1,700 faculty and staff and 19,000 students).

The Leostream Connection Broker allowed the university to scale their production VDI to meet their needs. The Connection Broker also allowed them to set up policies to lock down the USB ports on their thin clients, protecting their network against malware on client devices or peripherals, and provide students with a choice of desktops running Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems.

Hope this helps. You can download a full case study of their deployment from the Leostream Web site. Good luck with your deployment!

I personally have designed and deployed serveral 500 seat deployments, these are designed to scale to 5000 seats, what problems or issues are you worried about?
