I have created a streaming ThinApp package and have assigned the ThinApp to my virtual machine in the Vmware view manager.
After Assinging I get an Install Error listed under the Events Tab.
The error is as follows:
Failed to deliver Application to Desktop Grand_Prix-2, Error OpenPackage Error details. HRESULT hr = 0x80070005. Access is denied.
I can run the Application manual if I navigate to the network share where the ThinApps are stored, but I cannot get the install to work so that I have the shortcuts in place.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Big D
Page 212 of the admin guide has some troubleshooting steps for package install failures. Might be worth a look to see if it puts you on the right track .
Thank you for the suggestion, but the Admin guide offer little information to help.
Here are the relevant lines from the log:
13:10:00,384 INFO <PendingOperation-vm-5521> ThinAppMgmt: Status: FAILED Application c0d6d274-8c5f-46c3-91f0-ef01b3040f97 Operation INSTALL on VM: Grand_Prix-2
13:10:00,384 ERROR <PendingOperation-vm-5521> ThinAppMgmt: Error context: OpenPackageError details. HRESULT hr = 0x80070005. Access is denied.
Additional Information:
The user that the App is assigned to is a Domain Admin.
The Share that the thinapp is stored in, has read/execute permission to everyone, and Full Control to Domain Admins.
I don’t know if it makes a difference, but this is a CIFS share.
Also, I have changed the logon permissions for all View services to a domain account with access to all locations.
Thanks Again,
Big D
I have solved the issue myself. It was caused because I was using a cifs share to store my apps.
Thanks,

Thanks for sharing the solution to the problem.
What are you using instead now?
A windows file server/share.
I am getting the same error. I think I am running windows shares not CIFS. IT is a 2008 R2 Files server and I have an SMB share. Am I missing something to set this share up properly.
Share permissions are Everyone - Full Control, NTFS Permission - Domain Users - Full Control (I know this is bad but for testing I thought it best for now)
I attached a screen shot of the how the share shows up in my server.
