HI. As I now.

VMware in projects use 1 server for probably 60 users (It is important what type of soft you users using)

Server is 2CPU 4Core

32Gb Memory

2 Local SAS Disks

About Storage. Question is not correct. What is the size of template?

In regards to Storage Design, here are sizing considerations:

  • Linked Clone Pool datastore size

    • Replica VM VMDK size (10GB - Same as Parent VM)

    • Desktop VM Memory Provisioned * 2 (VM Swap and Windows PF)

    • Partent VM VMDK * 25% (Growth for delta)

    • Log File Storage size (~100MB)

    • Datastore free space allocation (15% overhead)

I suggest running some sort of Capacity Planner product against your desktops. The VMware Capacity Planner is now designed to do desktops, this will allow you to see the CPU, Memory and hard disk IO utilization required. The best practices put out by VMware, and storage vendors really only test View and Microsoft Office products. Adobe Distiller is a big disk IO hog as well as some other custome apps. There are applications that require a minimium of 1GB of RAM and then you must understand how you apps write to the local profiles.

This is not really a simple what do I need to use, you should really look into the environment before settling in on the design. I think once you do this you will have a successful deployment.
