Does anyone know any way of using the VMware View client using a Proxy?
We are trying to run an implimentation that we are not allowed to open any ports through firewall to a remote VDI Gateway and can only go through a Proxy.
Got it all working to login but then get as far as trying to get VDI Window on screen its all black, which sounds like can't get the TCP/UDP 4172 traffic to the View Client machine.
We have got the rules into the Proxy to allow traffic to pass through it to the right desination, using a Clearswift Secure Web Gateway.
Has anyone had any luck getting this sort of thing working?
Cheers
Andrew
Thanks for coming back, had a look at the KB article and that is not really what am looking for.
Almost the opposite, am looking at how to make all View Client traffic to go through a Proxy rather than bypass it as if we bypass the IE proxy then it gets stopped by the firewall.
Cheers

Did you ever figure this one out Andy? I am hitting the exact same issue, we need to connect via our proxy or the traffic gets dropped. I have a proxy that requires authentication and it seems like there is no way of providing credentials.

Hi Luke,
Was lucky enough to be at VMworld Europe and in one of the group sessions spoke to a View Product Manager and we chatted about this issue.
The outcome was that at the moment there is no solution and you need to have UDP/TCP port 4172 open to the destination.
I know VMware are playing about with some technology that does everything through the Web port was a fling and has been intigrated in Workstation. If they bring that to View it would be good.
