VMware View 5.3.1 - 2 ESXi Hosts running 5.1 and 1 vCenter. all connected to vshield.

Hello Community,

I have to remove vshield manager 5.11 and vshield app from my environment.

I have a VMware View with 50 Clients - view composer enabled.

What is the best way to get vshield removed.

Do I have to install my ESX hosts and vcenter from scratch? What will happen with my connection broker when the vcenter is not accessable?

Can I install a new vcenter and link the connection broker to the new one or do I have to build my view environment also from scratch?

kind regards

Dennis

Dennis,  it is probably best to check the documentation or open a ticket to determine the best and cleanest method of removing vShield.   As far as behavior of View when vCenter is offline you can expect things to function normally with exception to provisioning and power up and down commands.   Those task specifically require vCenter so they would be impacted.   You could change your pools to power on all available machines prior to your work which should mitigate that issue.

You could install a new vCenter but I think you would have to recreate your pool.
