VMware View 5.0 issue when connecting externally...blank screen, then disconnect.

I had this issue internally when first setting it up but it turned out to be an issue adding more video memory tothe VM but now when setting up the external connection, I only get a blank screen for a few seconds, then the session disconnects.  Any ideas?  All the ports are working internally and externally as well as all the ranges opened regarding the firewall.  I believe I have all the setings on the VDI connection server setup properly.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Are you saying that it works OK internally but when you connect externally (perhaps through a Security Server) then with PCoIP, you get a black screen for a few seconds and then a disconnect?

If so, it is likely to be one of the 3 setup steps here: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-14974

Let us know what it was.

Thanks.

Mark.

If it's not the External URL or PCoIP External URL settings for the security server, there is a remote possibility that it could be the video driver being used in your master image. In very rare cases, installing the VMware View Agent will overwrite the correct video driver installed with VMware Tools with a video driver that causes exactly the issue you're seeing. Also, if you're using the VMXNET3 NIC for the master image, be sure you've installed the Windows update as specified in the View Administration Guide on page 47: For Windows 7 SP1: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2550978; For Windows 7 versions previous to SP1: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2344941. As a quick test, you could change the master image to use the E1000 adapter, recompose from a new snapshot and see if that fixes the problem. But after having said all of that, I'd be really surprised if it doesn't have something to do with the PCoIP External URL, External URL or PCoIP Secure Gateway settings.
