VMware View 4 - Looking for a Linux OS version that can connect to VMware View

I would like to try a Linux OS that can connect to the VMware View 4 environment I setup. All the Windows PC's work fine, now I want to load a Linix OS on a PC and have it connect to the view desktops. Is this possible? If so, what flavor of Linux do I need?

Please post links to the downloads of Linux builds.

Thanks

All Linux distro's are free...

I am pretty confident it works with CentOS although I have not tried it myself as I run the Open VMWare View Client on Mac.

As in a client connection?

If so - any flavor should work and you can download the Open VMWare View Client from;

http://code.google.com/p/vmware-view-open-client/

Cheers!

Thanks for the download link. I downloaded it.

Now, let me rephrase my Linux OS question.....

What FREE Linux build can I use with this client? :oP

I would like to do a "Show and tell" on this using a free OS connecting to my VMware View environment.

Ultimately what I would like to do is just have a small linux OS operate like a "Dumb terminal", if you will.

Thanks

Worth noting that that Open Client doesn't support PCoIP, only RDP.

There's plently of posts here on the forum about it, but we're using Devons VDI Blaster to repurpose our PCs as "dumb terminals", which is a Linux OS with a PCoIP capable client. It will set you back £15 / $20per device however.

Thanks for the heads up on that.

That brings up a question now. Which protocol is less chatty? PCOIP or RDP?

Also, what Linux build other than DeTOS supports PCOIP?

I have already sent them a request for a demo, if they even offer one. Can't really find a download to anything other than documentation.

Thanks

Hi COS,

PCoIP is definetly much better than RDP when it come to user experience. I managed to test DevonIT VDI Blaster earlier with VMware View 4.5 and it does what it claim to do. Actually it work quite well. I hope you were able to put your hand on a demo and got to test it out for your self.

Please reward points if this help.
