VMware VDI ROI calculator- payback figure formula

Hi Guys,

anyone know how the ROI calculator calculate the payback time figure? i have used the tool to generate the analysis and the result shows that the payback time is 1.2 for 3 years and 1.4 for 5 years. But i dont understand how VMware come to that figure. can someone explain the formula behind it. below is my ROI result:
