VMWare View Fat-Client Setup?

Hello,

We would like to use some windows xp PC's and convert them over into basically thin clients.  It sounds like we can install the VMware view Manager on the PC and launch our Virtual Desktop from there.

My question is how good is it with local USB Devices, Sound, Video and speed?  Does it just use RDP to connect or is it a special protocol it uses?

If it is not any good, are there any alternatives we can use to connect to our VMware virtual Desktop pc?

In my experiences the USB redirection has worked very well for our USB printers and scanning devices. The protocol used is RDP you still have some limitations but overall things have been good. I have had some issues with some video and performance of some Office 2007 machines but I'm not sure that is View or RDP's fault.
