VMWare View Composer Linked Clone - Renaming Replica/Source Desktop VMs

Hello,

Everytime a linked-clone is created, a replica and source VMs are also created.

VC automatically assigns a different unique name to each replica and source VM.

I would like to know if it is possible to renamed the replica and source VM without causing any disruption to the linked-clone.

no it is not possible to rename the replica and source machines, however you should be able to rename the VC view. Personally I would not do this as somebody if bound to forget the rename and attempt to clear up the rogue oddly name VM guest on each data store.
