Hey guys,
I'm a universtiy student and I need to connect with the server of my university to use some programs. So I installed VMware View Client(latest version) and it was working fine with RDP, but now i cant choose RDP anymore - just PCoIP, which is not working..
Do you have any idea, what i can do?
What is the error? Also check with IT support to make sure your university's firewall will allow traffic through the firewall ports necessary for Pcoip..
You will probably need to contact the University administrator of the View environment. Perhaps you have a helpdesk number you can use.
It is possible that the admin has recently configured the pool to disallow RDP. Perhaps also, PCoIP access is not set up correctly. When this is setup correctly, RDP and PCoIP can work depending on what the admin allows.

Hey sorry for my short text, but i was in a hurry yesterday.
Last week it was possible to choose RDP under settings and it was working fine. But now the option RDP disappeared - and I don't know why. Do you have any idea?
I didn't change anything (it's my laptop at work)..
I thought PCoIP doesnt work, because of the restrictive company network.. If i try to connect, i get a black screen and after a few seconds i get the error message (I'm not using a English version of VMware, but the error-message should be..) " The connection to the remote-computer was terminated".
Edit: ah sorry Mark - i just saw your answer.. Okay, i will try to ask them, if they disabled RDP.
Thanks !
No problem.
Yes, the PCoIP black screen you describe can happen for a number of reasons, but one is that something along the way is blocking the PCoIP protocol on ports UDP 4172 and/or TCP 4172. Another reason is if the admin hasn't set up the PCoIP External URL correctly etc. These things won't be under your control so the admin should be able to help you.
Also, if RDP is re-enabled by the admin you'll be able to connect that way.
