VMWARE HORIZON CLIENT DOESN'T WORK ON MAC BOOK PRO

Hello,

I have been using vmware horizon client 4.5 and 5.5 since the pandemic. I have reached out to the support many times and yet they give me the same answer to contact my IT support.

Here is my situation:

"I am using a mac to connect to my remote desktop (A WINDOWS PC) using vmware horizon client. Firstly they told me that mac doesn't allow extending monitors when you use vmware horizon client. And secondly, the cursor doesn't point to the right location. This email/text is for developers please test it before you release it out to the public. I have been on hold for 35 minutes when I asked the customer support to transfer my call to their manager and after a long hold of 35 minutes they cut my call.?"

could someone reach out to me from the support/app developers? I can be reached at ygubbala@outlook.com. Working with these issues since the pandemic. And I think somebody needs to address these concerns to the developers of vmware horizon client. If you know these issues and aren't you guys going to do anything about it? From 6 months ?

Thanks,

Yamini

Hi YiQun,

Thank you for the response. After the mac has been updated to macOS Big Sur, vmware Horizon client v4.5 is not working to connect to my pc anymore and the latest version has the keyboard mapped to wrong keys. When I press enter the narrator would open, And I know that I turned off all the hot keys on my windows pc. So then I tried this version of vmware "VMware-Horizon-Client-2006-8.0.0-16531451.dmg". And it is working fine but sometimes the connection drops. I think, the below pointed issues are for the version "VMware-Horizon-Client-5.4.3-16499473.dmg".

1. The cursor would not point to the correct location. And any images could not be posted because of security concerns. In the attached image you can understand from what I meant by cursor doesn't point to the right location. I have to adjust it so much, for example if I wanted to click on a hyperlink and if I hover over the text it would not display the hand symbol, instead I have to click on an area that is close to the hyperlink text and that would work. I hope this makes sense if not, please let me know.

2. And I think this is a known issue that extended monitor is not supported if I am using a macbook pro to remote in to my windows pc using vmware horizon client.

Thank you,

Yamini

Hello YiQun,

I am attaching another screen-print that I thought might help you understand the cursor issue I mentioned earlier. Please reach out to me whenever you can. In the attached picture you can see that the window's position is raised and it happens with text/hyperlink or when ever I copy it doesn't copy the right content or the right text. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Yamini
