VDM under ubuntu

I'm testing accessing VMD on a ubuntu client. I have firefox 2.0 install, java (jre1.6.0_03) installed, and Java is working in the browser. I can log into VDM (windows athentication), I recieve a list of "pools" I am entitled to see and when I click connect, I get another window that opens and says "404 error Page Not Found" with a link:

Here is the link:

If I change my web access preference to run in a window, I get the ability to open a clientLaunch.jnlp file. Java does not want to seem to open the file.

The jnlp file is used with Java WebStart. It looks like you don't have this or it is not configured correctly.

Java WebStart is part of the JRE. Make sure your client meets the prerequisites listed on page 8 of the Admin guide - http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vdm20_manual.pdf .

In particular check your installation of Java. Running a jnlp file will then result in the client part launching rather than your browser offering to open this file.

Hope this helps.

Mark.

Looks like if we are accessing VDM Web Access from a Windows PC then the browser must be Internet Explorer 6 or above only.
