Dear All,
I've implemented vmware Horizon View 7.0.0-3633490
I'm using Blast protocol to connect to the VDI pool.
What my understanding use to be is that, If the connection server is restarted, all the connected sessions to the virtual desktops will remain connected and any new connection wont take place.
I'm trying this scenario in my environment, but unfortunately, even the connected sessions are getting disconnected.
I went through the below solution provided in this forum but without luck
https://communities.vmware.com/thread/469878?start=0&tstart=0
below are the settings for the Secure Gateway... (previously both the check boxes were ticked for PCoIP & Blast), even after disabling them the connection to the virtual desktops remains for a minute and then it gets disconnected.
Appreciate your help
Regards...
Basim
Hi Basim, If you uncheck the secure gateway for PCOIP and Blast, it will help the internal user to connect to their View Desktops directly through PCOIP or Blast. Hence restarting the connection server will not affect the internal users where as restarting will disconnect the external users session when they connect from Internet.
I tested myself and had to uncheck also HTTP(s) Secure tunnel to keep clients connected.
BassaMi, did you get an official answer ?
Thank you
For as far as i know this is default behaviour because when you use that setting it will use port 443 through the connection server to keep the session alive. If connection to the connection server is lost the session will disconnect.
Do keep in mind if you bypass the client will contact the client directly and you will need to be in your internal network for this to work. Let's say you VDI machines have an ip address of 10.0.0.x the View client of blast protocol will connect to this internal ip address.
