VDI SAN configuration recommendations - how many VMs per LUN?

I've read the whitepapers I can find, but I haven't got hold of a good summary of SAN best practices for VDI deployments.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how many XP virtual disks should be configured per LUN?

Have you seen this?

Our environment, a bit unique, has 2800 vPC's, each LUN contains around 100 VM's. However, we are running VDM 2.1. With VMware View 3, it kind of changes storage requirements, with the the ability to use linked clones.

I suppose some real world examples is what I am after. For example, you mention that you have 100VMs per LUN. Is there a reason to have 100? Why not have fewer per LUN, more per LUN? I need some concrete examples with some clear explanations justifying the choices that were made!
