VDI Licensing question

How do you combine multiple 100 connection broker license files? The VDM server configuration only allows a single code to be typed in and I have two, one per pack.

We had this same issue. What we ended up doing was calling VMware Support and having them take 28 100 VM licenses and combine them into a single License Key.

Hey Troy, thanks for the quick answer. It seems that there are two correct answers; one is that you can have the Database group merg the license files into one big file and the other one is my favorite, it's honor based. I was told that the Connection servers wont kick you or deny client connections but that either key (say 100 and a second of 20) could be used. You just wouldn't be able to get support if you were over your limit until you trued up your licensing.

I ended up on the phone with two very nice VDI product specialists that informed me of this.

The headache was that I had to deal with support and got the following answers:

1st support tech that said I should "buy all that I need at one time" that these licenses are usually purchased that way.

2nd support tech told me to contact the vendor I purchased from, since they would be better able to help me.

(this is when I had the conferance call)

3rd support tech confirmed what you said above.

I asked the product specialists to "please educate" the technical supprt folks so others won't have to deal with this.
