I need to patch my VCSA and we have Instant Clone pools that are rather active. Is there a best practices for this? I would assume that the pool will not be able to provision systems while vCenter is offline.
Besides doing this outside of peak hours, should I temporarily disable provisioning?
Yes, I recommend disabling provisioning on all pools to eliminate errors that you may face when people log off and also i recommend adding extra VMs ahead of time to cover you during the outage.
I will give that a try. Bumping the number of available systems is a good safeguard.
