Using vdmadmin command with the -A switch

Hello all

I just read the Command Line tool for View Manager doc and I am looking for clarification on the vdmadmin -A option.

Does this command actually change the assigned IP address in the deployed virtual desktop or is it only changing the returned value from the View Agent? Can this command also change the netmask and default gateway ?

Any information is welcome

J

Using this Switch you can change IP of a desktop using -i parameter. This will not allow you to change any netmask or gateway.

Thanks for the reply Smiley Happy

Then I am not sure under what conditions this option would be used. I can change the IP but I can only see it from the command line with the list option. If I can't also change subnet mask and default gateway I am I forced to only change the IP to one within the existing subnet.

Can you provide insight on how this option can be used in production and why?

Thx

J
