Users Randomly unable to log back in after screen lock

We're currently experiencing a very random and weird, but frustrating, problem.  In our new Horizon 8 Environment (2103) when our AD lock screen timeout kicks in and locks the users VDI session or the user locks it and walks away, the user does not get the standard Windows login box as expected when they attempt to unlock when coming back with ctrl-alt-delete or using the send ctrl-alt-delete from the Horizon Client.  Ctrl-alt-insert also does not help.  This does not happen every time, making it even harder to troubleshoot.  This is only happening in our Horizon 8 environment for testing and validation as the majority of our users our still using Horizon 7 and do not have this problem. Both environments run the same versions of Windows 10.

I know there are quite a few "solutions" out there on the Google machine that suggests running everything from DISM repairs to SFC, but none of these make a difference.  The random nature of it also has not helped in the troubleshooting.

Has anyone else seen or experienced this at all or have any suggestions that might be related to Horizon specifically?

We are seeing a similar issue, randomly users get stuck on the windows lock screen, ctrl alt del does not work. We use imprivata which normally disconnects the user and they never see a windows lock screen. It wasn't until we moved from horizon 7 to 8 that we saw this issue.

Works most of the time but at random times the user gets stuck and has to be logged off from the horizon console.

Did you ever find a solution to this?
