User Desktop icons and Favorites revert back - Horizon View 6.2

Hi All,

We are using Persona Management for managing user profiles for our Automated Floating Desktop Pools. Users are entitled to multiple Desktop Pools and they login to one VDI session at one time logging off the other one. We're having a strange problem where user desktop icons revert back and the Favorites icon get duplicated if a user tries to delete or re-arrange them. I understand Persona Management does not currently support multiple concurrent sessions to the same profile and If more than one session is detected, it goes into a read-only mode, during which no changes are uploaded to the network. However, in our scenario users are logging off and then connecting to other desktop pool so there is only one session per user at any time. However, the changes they are making across those sessions are being merged and duplicated. I've made sure there's enough time between log off/on process so the profiles get synced across the network.

Has anyone faced this issue?

Any suggestion would be greatly Appreciated.

Thanks,

Loc.

If you did concurrent session login (login to multiple desktops at the same time using the same user), then Persona doesn't support it.

Hi Loc,

There is a fix for similar issue in 6.2.1. Is it possible to test with 6.2.1?

If the issue persists, please attach persona logs and I'll quick scan on it.

Thanks,

Henky

Hi Henky,

Thank you so much for the response. We're planning for the upgrade from 6.2.0 to 6.2.1 according to your suggestion. Do you have any tips for the upgrade?

Best Regards,

Loc.

Hi h3nkY,

Local profile on the VMs are pushing the deleted files/folders back to the persona folder. We're using automated desktop pool with floating assignment and do not delete local profile on user log off. So, copies of user profile remain in the VMs where the user logs in. Now, if the user deletes items from one profile and logs in to another VM which has a copy of his/her profile, the items are copied back to the persona share from the local profile. Local profile is getting precedence over the persona profile and writes back deleted files/folders back to the persona share. Is it supposed to be like this?

Lochan.

Thanks Henky for all your valuable suggestions,

Enabling Folder Redirection in View Persona helped resolved this issue. We've redirected Desktop, My Documents and Favorites folder so that there is no need to sync them and is presented LIVE to the user.
