Upgrading a View 4.0 Security Server to 4.5

I am in the process of upgrading my View environment to 4.5. I was looking through the docs and I haven't seen any mention of the View Security Server Upgrade process. Do you have to upgrade the Security server to 4.5 or no?

The View 4.5 Upgrade Guide, http://www.vmware.com/pdf/view45_upgrade_guide.pdf, talks about Security Servers on pages 22 (the new pairing mechanism) and on page 23, steps 12 and 13 (upgrading Security Servers)
