Upgrading ESXi host, replicas for linked clones

I am in the process of upgrading my ESXi 5.1 hosts to ESXi 5.5.  I have some linked clone pools in View and their replicas that got created.  Since these replicas have snapshots, they can't be vmotioned.  Whats the best method for upgrading an ESXi host that has replicas with snapshots on it? Just upgrade the host and leave the replicas where they are?

In my experience whenever you put the host in maintenance mode the replica is moved off to another host in the cluster.   You can then perform you upgrade without any issues.
