Upgrade View 5.0 to 5.2 before or after upgrading vSphere 5.0 to 5.5

Currently I am running vSphere 5.0 w/ vCenter Server 5.0 & View 5.0. I had held off on upgrading to 5.1 and now that 5.5 is out I have some questions about how it may impact View.

After doing some reading it looks pretty straight forward to upgrade from vCenter/vSphere 5.0 straight to 5.5, plenty of documentation on it, and I have ready where upgrading from 5.0 to 5.1 doesn't impact View 5.0 (View Connection Server doesn't have a problem and Desktops aren't disconnected.)

So my real question then, assuming I will be upgrading everything to latest build, what would be the preferred order be?

vCenter 5.0 - 5.5 > vSphere 5.0 to 5.5... and then View 5.0 to Horizon View 5.3? and what if any tips or pitfalls should I watch for.

Also.. our View Environment currently does not use a Security Server. View Desktops are all in a secured vlan and aren't accessible from any othernetwork, so we didn't feel it was necessary. Pros/Cons going forward?
