Updating/Upgrading from View 5.0 to Horizon View 5.3

Hey Guys,

I want to make an upgrade from View 5.0 to the actual Horizon View 5.3

For View 5.3, I cannot find an upgrade guide from VMware, only the one to View 5.2

Are there any well-known pitfalls for this update?

Or is the upgrade guide to View 5.2 the best solution?

Further, should I plan downtime for end-users, which are connected to their virtual desktops per PCoIP?

Thanks for help in advance.

Best Regards,

Andre

Correct, there is no guide for 5.3. Follow the 5.2 guide and you should be fine.

Hey Linjo,

thanks for your quick response.

Only one further question:

Is it supportet to use the existing pools (with View Agent 5.0 installed) anymore, in a View 5.3 environment?

So we could prevent any changes to the existing desktops/users.

Best Regards,

Andre

Its only "supported" in a upgrade scenario, so you not run it for any longer time and definitely not do any pool-changes, refreshes or recomposes.

Also since you are coming from 5.0 then you need to give your certificates some extra attention. (There was some major changes between 5.0 and 5.1)
