Unable to set up the application session for the display protocol. Please contact your system administrator on first logon

I have an RDS farm publishing linked clone desktops on View 7.  After recomposing I keep getting the error 'Unable to set up the application session for the display protocol. Please contact your system administrator' whenever making an initial connection either through BLAST or PCoIP.  Once I click ok I am then able to connect fine.  I have found this HTML Access Release Notes that details the problem occuring when trying to connect to an RDS app, but this is an old version of HTML access so I am thinking it should be resolved now as later release notes do not mention this known issue.  Does anyone have any idea how I can resolve this?

Maybe something wrong on the agent, a few questions:

1) Are you using View 7.0.0? 

2) have you tried apps from another farm?

3) how about using other client like WinCDK?

we are seeing this randomly with some of our Linux clients. reboot of the linux OS seems to fix it for a day or two
