Unable to access local DVD-ROM in View Client

I'm able to mount locally connected USB drives but can't access the local DVD drive.  Is there something special I have to do to the VM on the ESXi host and/or in View Connection Server?

Local CD and DVD drives will not work in View. You have to use USB drives currently.

Local CD/DVD aren't supported by View Client using PCoIP protocol.  You only can map the CD/DVD using RDP protocol

That puts the brakes on a View deployment.  We need to be able to burn DVD's so this is a requirement.  Any word on when this feature will be available?

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem, I need the feature that people can burn DVD. Also I have tested an external USB drive via RDP, the view client see the DVD but cannot access the disc data!. Does anyone have an external USB DVD burner who is compatible with view client 4.6?

Thank you

Jean-Marc

If you're using a zero client, here is a list of Teradici tested DVD drives. I've found using USB DVD drives in a remote site is not a very fun experience.
