Tracking connections from Zero or other clients

Is there a tool out there that can give me information on who connects via which clients? Such as, who connects via a zero client vs who connects using a Mac or Windows client?

Thanks

You can kind of do this through VMWare View already.

Monitoring> Sessions> arrange the column by "Client ID"

your zero clients will have a very similar uniform mac address.

such as:

1c-5a-3e-xx-xx-xx

1c-5a-3e-xx-xx-xx

1c-5a-3e-xx-xx-xx

or (depending on your Tera version.)

48-44-f7-xx-xx-xx

48-44-f7-xx-xx-xx

48-44-f7-xx-xx-xx

Where as your Soft clients (Vmware view clients) will have a really long string of numbers and letters and will probably also be some or majority of connections coming through your security gateway.

Its not immediately clear but you can figure it out.

hope it helps.

I've installed VMware Horizon Toolbox, it's a Fling you can download for free (Flings – VMware Labs)

Just install it on the Connection Server and you're see some great info (web based).

I was looking at that - but considering I would have to hack in their alpha version exe into all connection events manually just to get mac addresses seemed kind of hacky. I was hoping for a cleaner way
