This desktop does not support the requested display protocol (Help!)

Hello all,

on our Wyse R50LE terminal when connecting to our View server using the standard View client it brings back the error:

"This desktop does not support the requested display protocol" and then says unable to connect to our desktop pool. Does anyone have any ideas what I have to do to get rid of this message and connect? The same setup works flawlessly on our Wyse C50LE terminal. hey are both suse linux embedded and I'm using connection manager to set up the connection to the View server.

What is the requested protocol? RDP or PCoIP?

If PCoIP I would first check the linux version on R50 against VMware View compatibility guide first (http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php).

Havent used R50 myself, are you able to choose the protocol when connecting? Maybe try changing it to RDP either on thinclient or in pool settings (View Manager) and see what happens.

I think it is requesting PCiOP, I did change the setting in View to let it provide both display protocols but not had a chance to test it yet. I haven't got access to the terminals as working from home but should be able to test tomorrow. Thanks for your insight you've been a great help!

Thanks for your advice, changing the protocol in view manager to allow for both display protocols now enables the connection to work from the R50L.
