Thin Clients with View 4.5

I was going through the thin client compatbility guide, and I am trying to decide which thin client to demo. I'd like pcoip, and finding the Wyse P20 very appealing, although it only has usb 1.1

Can someone make some suggestions as to which clients you are using with View 4.5?

Currently I only have a Wyse C10LE, which is RDP only and the HP 5455

I'd be willing to look at other companies, just wanted to get a feel as to which are most popular

We have been extremely happy with the Wyse P20. Like you we also demo'd the HP T5545 and Wyse C10LE, and we were pretty unimpressed by both.

We thought the Wyse R50LE was decent, but if you want the best experience then the P20 is the way to go.

We also had great success with our P20 testing.   Performance was where it needed to be and setup was fairly simple.

We tested and liked the P20. It had one thing that we didn't like. In order to automatically configure the device you had to setup network folder shares with manually configured config files. It wasn't very user-friendly (and it was slightly annoying to dig through the documentation).

We tested and love the Samsung SyncMaster NC190. It comes with 4 USB 2.0 ports. It also has the monitor built right in. I figured that for almost the same price as the P20 we could get a new monitor, too. It has a web page to configure the zero client. It has worked really well.

Teradici has a free management console that is really helpful with configuring client devices.  It'll even do firmware updates.

thanks to all. Seems like Wyse P20 I should trial for 30 days.

I was looking to buy the Samsung NC240 for myself. Does anyone else have any experience with the Samsung Zero client?

may i also ask what everyone experience has been with VDI Blaster as an alternative to purchasing thin client? I did buy a copy of VDI Blaster but it keeps telling me that it cannot connect to management server. I believe I must download their virtual appliance for it to work. I haven't had much chance to look into it.

I'd much rather thin clients, but company has lot of Optiplex desktops they want to use

We've been repurposing some older desktops as well with "AutoView": http://vmjunkie.wordpress.com/2009/04/01/making-a-thin-client-on-fat-hardware-part-2/

The main downside is that it uses a Windows license.

We have a couple NC190s as well as an NC240 that I have been testing with.  So far they have worked just as well as the P20, though I have not done testing with the audio interfaces besides basic audio playback.

The bonus is they double as a regular monitor, though it's an extra piece of equipment that can potentially fail and then you have to replace the whole thing.

I think we will be going with the P20 simply because of cost and the fact that we already have monitors for every workstation we'll be replacing with a zero client.

We've been using a handful of Samsung NC190s and NC240s for about 4 months now and have been very pleased.  The cost of the Wyse P20 was signficantly higher for us than buying the Samsung units, and those don't include the monitor.  The all-in-one design is great...  it's very clean and all our users have been pleased.

In case it isn't clear, the Wyse P20 and the Samsung clients use the exact same firmware from Teradici, so you don't really lose any functionality by moving from one to the other.

I was looking into the Wyse P20 from CDW and Insight. They both sell multiple models of the Wyse P20, and for diff prices. On Wyse website there is only one P20 listed.

https://www.insight.com/search/nugs_search.web?searchText=wyse+p20+zero+client&searchSuggestSelected...

http://www.cdw.com/shop/search/results.aspx?searchscope=All&key=wyse+p20

Does anyone know the difference? They appear identical, just have diff manufacturer part #
