I have aq VM that is used as a master for a pool. There are currently 3 snapshots on this VM and i need to remove two of them. The third one is the snapshot that is currently being used on the pool. When i try to remove the othe two i get the message "The object has already been deleted or has not been completely created" Any way i can get rid of this without dleteing them all and recomposing my pool?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Is the snapshot really there meaning can you see the snapshot files for that paticular snapshot on the datastore? it's not really a View issue so I'm not sure how deep we are going to be able to go. I'll try to get one of the moderators who is an expert in snapshot and vmdk files to take a look and see if they have any ideas.
There are 3 snapshots that show up in snapshot MGR and 3 Delta files on the datastore.
Hi
sounds like a bad entry in the *.vmsd - or like a vmsn file still exists that should better be deleted.,
Anyway - we will need a file-listing, the two small vmdk descriptor files
the vmx-file and a vmsd-file - if one exists that is not blank
then we can say more - for now I dont think that you need to recreate the pool
just see your reply now
... we will then need 4 small vmdks
can you attach the vmware.log ?
try renaming the *.vmsn-files to *.vmsn-org
I tried to rename the file and had no luck there eiher. I found this link and it solved teh problem. Just not sure why. Thanks for the help.
