Symantec virus warning?

Our VMWare SE and I installed the RC of VDI yesterday and all three installs (server, client, agent) triggered a Symantec antivirus warning about nc.exe (Symantec saw it as Netcat). Has anyone else seen this? Everything seemed to go fine after that even though nc.exe was quarantined.

Thanks!

Hi,

I saw the same messages from Symantec Antivirus while upgrading. No errors afterwards so far but weare no heavy users of VDI - just a few tests.

Regards,

daniel

I haven't really had experiences with Symantec giving errors in a VDI... Could you tell what kind of error it gave?

See the protocol of the warning in the attached picture

Hmm I dont recognize it...seeing the first post it didn't give any problems. Is that the same for you? Or does it make some applications stop working or giving errors?

Also, can't you somehow edit the filter of symantec? like telling it to accept that file.

My SE just sent me this response from VMWare:

This is in the release notes. It's used as a debugging tool and will not be included in the final build.
