We have a scheduled maintenance to SvMotion the View Desktop vms from one FC stroage to another, these are probably manual desktop pools. Can I do a normal Storage vMotion from the vCenter or from View Manager also is there a downtime required for this ?
Please let me know if you need any other information.
Thanks
Sice you are going to use it with FC! Than only 4 VMs can relocate to new storage
No need to downtime, only think about your view Servers (VDI)

If these are not Linked Clones (e.g. you created the VM in vSphere Client, installed the View Agent, and then added to View), you can do a regular Storage vMotion. If they are Linked Clones, you'll need to rebalance them, as detailed in KB 1028754
I thought its full VMs, not a linked-clone

Thanks for the prompt response guys
These are not linked clones so I guess I just need to do a normal storage vMotion and users would still be able to connect to their desktops while the Storage vMotion is in progress.
Is the above applicable for individual, manual & automated persistant/non-persistant desktop pools? Also is there an official KB regarding this?
Thanks
Hey vSolid, Im new to View. Im sure that these are not linked clone so I guess these are full desktops. LOL
