Storage sizing needed for Instant clones

I need to find out how much space 200 instant clones with a base image of 80GB would take up?

Is there a formula or calculator out there?

I am just looking storage size (not cpu and memory)

Thanks in advance

Pat

It depends, they could take up to 16000GB(200x80), but it depends on there use. When you pick the datastore in horizon it will give you estimates

This for 200 40 gb images, so you could probably get away with doubling ths.

OK thanks I was wondering if a 1 TB data store would be enough

and I thought the whole idea was that take up hardly any space at all with thin disk and going off the base image so there would be no way it would 16000GB

If you left them on forever they could get close to 100% themselves if enough data changed, which is why there is no hard number to go by.
