SqlServer fails to start after Horizon 7 Agent installation

Hi all

I have a Windows 2012 R2 DataCenter Edition with a SQL Server Express 2014 instance. All works without problems.

If I install Horizon 7 Agent 64 bits, after server´s reboot SQl Server instance can´t start.

In the event log I receive the following Event ID: 17120,17826,17182 ans SQl Server fails to start.

I have tried many solutions but anything works. The only thing I can do is remove the Horizon agent and SQL Server works without problems again.

Someone knows how to fix the problem?

Is the Horizon agent not compatible with a SQL Server installation in the same server?

I can´t find a solution.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor English.

Hi,

we had the same issue - Sam Edric from VMware solved it for us.

in our case the sql express required TLS 1.0 to be enabled (it is disabled once Horizon Agent is installed).

-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\TLS1.0\Server

REG_DWORD Enabled from 0 to 1.

please check additional protocols (TLS1.1, TLS1.2,..) which might be required too...

best regards

Joerg
